Circo di Strada celebrates 10 years: International street theatre and parade acts - Anniversary highlights

Ten years ago, Circo di Strada began as a creative initiative by Jori and Vera: touching, surprising, and connecting people with visual street theatre and unique parade acts. What started as an ambitious idea has grown over the past ten years into an international player performing in the most diverse locations around the world. This anniversary is therefore not only a look back at highlights, but above all a celebration of development, perseverance, and artistic innovation.

Circo di Strada is celebrating its 10th anniversary, which means ten years of international street theatre, impressive parade acts, and unique live entertainment productions. What began in 2016 has grown into an established name within the world of street theatre festivals, circus parades, and international events. In this blog, we look back at the key highlights and show why Circo di Strada is such a strong player in the international entertainment industry today.

The start of Circo di Strada (2016 – 2017)

After various try-outs, the premiere of Circo di Strada took place on May 1, 2016, during the O-Parade Genk in Belgium. This marked the beginning of an innovative street theater concept in which visual spectacle, costumes, and performance come together.

International recognition followed as early as 2017 with a performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix. These kinds of major events have since become characteristic of Circo di Strada: high-quality entertainment on a global level. In the same year, new formats also emerged, such as Circo di Strada by Night and the premiere of the UniQcycle , expanding the offering with unique parade acts.

International breakthrough with street theater and parades (2018 – 2019)

In the years that followed, Circo di Strada grew rapidly within the international festival and parade world. Performances at the Hong Kong Chinese New Year Parade and the Macau Chinese New Year Parade ensured worldwide visibility.

In addition, Circo di Strada was awarded the Arts and Culture Prize in Zoetermeer in 2018. They also collaborated on major productions such as Toppers in Concert – Circus Edition . This combination of street theatre, circus entertainment, and large-scale shows makes Circo di Strada unique of its kind.

Large-scale international events and entertainment (2020 – 2023): parades, street theatre acts and circus parade

Despite challenges in the sector, Circo di Strada remained internationally active. Performances during the Dubai Shopping Festival were followed by the development of parade acts, street theater acts, and a circus parade.

In 2023, they went all out during the Bahrain Grand Prix with a production featuring no fewer than 20 artists. This underscores the scalability of Circo di Strada: from mobile acts to full parade shows.

New productions and international award (2024 – 2026)

The growth continues with new shows and international recognition. In 2024, Circo di Strada returned to the Hong Kong Chinese New Year Parade with a circus parade, and in 2025, the Wonderful Winter Parade street theatre act premiered—a completely new parade concept with a winter theme.

In 2025 and 2026, major international assignments followed again, including performances during the Bahrain Grand Prix and a show in Riyadh during a LIV Golf event.

An absolute highlight is the participation in the Macao International Parade in 2026, where Circo di Strada was awarded the Best Costume Award . This confirms the quality of the costumes, acts, and artistic appeal.
